Opening: AI, from Sci-Fi Vision to Corporate Reality
In 2001, Steven Spielberg’s film A.I. Artificial Intelligence brought the term "AI" into the spotlight for sci-fi enthusiasts. Back then, people imagined artificial intelligence as robots that could think like humans. Twenty-five years later, "AI" (Artificial Intelligence) has become a familiar presence in our daily lives — visible everywhere in smartphones, televisions, and the internet. But what exactly does AI bring us? What value does it hold for corporate development? Today, we will explore this topic from the perspective of Yabo.
To understand the relationship between AI and our company, we first need to clarify several common concepts. We can envision these technologies as a "human-shaped digital partner" that gradually makes our work easier. This partner needs hands, feet, eyes, ears, a brain — and most importantly, a torso to tie them all together.
Productivity Tools (The "Hands" of the Partner):
These are our daily workhorses. Word, Excel, and PPT for reports and data analysis; WeChat and email for communication. These "helpers" are indispensable — without them, our work would grind to a halt.
Informatization (The "Feet" of the Partner):
This streamlines workflows. Previously, submitting and approving applications required running between departments to find the right people. Now, with systems like ERP and OA, forms are automatically routed to relevant leaders and colleagues with just a few clicks at the computer. Information is transmitted faster and more accurately.
Digitization (The "Eyes and Ears" of the Partner):
This turns "unreadable" data into "understandable" information. Text in Word documents, photos on mobile phones, and work videos — once only humans could interpret these, but computers "couldn’t understand." Digitization converts this unstructured data into machine-readable "clear ledgers," allowing computers to "see" and "hear" all information in our work.
Intelligentization (The "Brain" of the Partner):
This brain has two "hemispheres": AI models like DeepSeek, which excel at summarizing and generating images, act as the "right brain" for creativity; algorithms that process complex data act as the "left brain" for logic. Only when both "hemispheres" work in tandem can AI truly solve various work challenges. And digitization is what enables this "brain" to function effectively.
Our Context: Yabo’s Foundation and the Need for Transformation
At Yabo, an OEM/ODM enterprise focused on animal health products, we rely on low costs, fast responses, and new products to win customers. From a small workshop to three large factories, ten production lines, and annual output exceeding 200 million yuan, our growth has long depended on these software tools. Word and Excel are basic skills for technical colleagues, while ERP and OA are core platforms used daily — if ERP ever goes down, we would essentially have to stop working and go home. We are already deeply reliant on informatization.
But is this enough? Certainly not. As our company scales, customer demands multiply, and the market grows more competitive. The old "throw more people at it" approach is becoming unsustainable: management costs rise, communication grows more cumbersome, yet order growth slows. If costs outpace profits, the company’s development will be hindered. Therefore, we must embark on the path of digital and intelligent transformation: expanding informatization coverage, piloting digitization applications, advancing intelligent upgrades, to accelerate new product launches, improve operational efficiency, adapt to multi-market and multi-factory management needs, and find new growth points to help the company grow stronger.
Currently, the company is advancing several practical digital and intelligent projects to address these challenges:
1. XCP Collaborative Innovation Platform
This platform integrates three "sub-systems": CRM, PLM, and SRM.
CRM manages the full lifecycle of customer interactions, from new product launch and quotation to order placement and after-sales service, all within the system.
PLM supports internal R&D, packaging, legal, and cost accounting teams, eliminating redundant work for new product development.
SRM works with suppliers, streamlining qualification reviews, new material onboarding, and packaging design processes to accelerate new product development from concept to launch.
2. SBC Intelligent Batching Center
Previously, the three factories prepared materials separately, with frequent warehouse back-and-forth trips that were both costly and slow. Now, all materials except special items are centrally batched and managed by the warehouse, eliminating redundant work. Moving forward, we will gradually introduce conveyors, light-guided picking, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to make batching even more efficient and labor-saving.
3. Utility Engineering DCS System
This system acts as the "thousand-mile eyes" and "command center" for equipment. It monitors the real-time status of switchgear, production process parameters, and early warning faults. Key parameters like temperature and humidity can be remotely adjusted directly on the computer, eliminating the need for constant manual oversight. This improves production automation, reduces human intervention, boosts efficiency, lowers energy consumption, and enhances production safety and product quality.
Closing: A Shared Journey for All Yabo People
Digital and intelligent transformation is not an "option" for Yabo — it is a "must-take road" for our growth. It is crucial to clarify that advanced technology cannot succeed without sound management systems, and management cannot be effectively implemented without technological support.
Digital transformation is not just the IT & IE Department’s responsibility — it is a collective endeavor for every Yabo employee. When these technologies are truly integrated into daily work, our work efficiency will improve, communication will become smoother, and our products will better meet customer needs.
Let digital intelligence raise strong sails for Yabo’s large ship, carrying every one of us steadily forward toward the stars and the sea.
